This edition is based on the first edition of the score, which was published by Novello in London in 1903, and on the facsimile of orchestral parts used in the premiere. Only the timpani part was not available for the publisher.

The edition has been thoroughly reviewed and revised. Numerous articulations were unified. Many accidents were supplemented in places where they were musically consistent and apparently overlooked in the preparation of the first editions. The horn and trumpet parts were brought into uniform transpositions (F and Bb). The composer originally wrote horns in F, E, and Eb, as well as trumpets in E and Eb.

The publisher is pleased to make this inspiring work, which was very popular during the composer's lifetime, available for sale for the first time in a new, up-to-date edition.
