April 1912 stieß der englische Riesendampfer ’Titanic’ auf dem atlantischen Ocean mit einem schwimmenden Eisberge zusammen. Über 1.600 Menschen fanden dadurch ihren Tod. Als das Schiff sank, spielte die Kapelle ’Nearer, my god, to thee’.“
