Works and editions by Holmès, Augusta (1847-1903)

Augusta Holmès showed her talent in piano playing early on, but as a woman she was not allowed to study at first. In 1876, she was finally able to become a pupil of César Franck. She worked as a composer for a wide variety of genres and was known for political influences on her works. She left behind numerous symphonic works, five operas and chamber and piano music.
