First since 1942 available edition of Gershwin’s original orchestration of this work. The ’American’ which can be heard today is the strongly revised and re-orchetsrated version of Frank Campbell-Watson which has not been authorised by Gershwin or his brother.

This original version can be performed without fees for performing rights societes in countries with 70 years term of copyright (the Campbell-Watson edition is still under copyright).
