Paul Ladmirault was born in Nantes in 1877 and also attended the conservatory here. When he was 16, his first opera was performed. He continued his studies in Paris, among others with Gabriel Fauré. From 1920 Ladmirault was a music professor in his home town of Nantes. He continued to work as a composer and had great success with many works. Ladmirault composed the Messe brève, which is still much sung today, on the occasion of the ordination of his son Daniel.
