Kämpf: The holy three Fountains near Trafoi - Idyll for harmonium op.48
"If you continue along the Trafoier valley from Trafoi, after a while you reach the end of the valley, which is one of the most imposing landscapes in Tyrol and presents the hiker with an unforgettable impression. Four stately glaciers descend into the gorge, giving this place a majestic grandeur. At the foot of the Ortler, which drops steeply and can be seen here in all its grandeur, lies a small church shaded by trees, which, secluded and far from people, offers a peaceful resting place to the mind depressed by the overwhelming grandeur of nature and has consequently been declared holy by the people and raised to the status of a place of pilgrimage. In a small house next to it, the springs of the Trafoierbach are collected in 3 wooden pipes; the latter are led through the chests of three wooden figures representing Christ, St. Mary and St. Anne. The murmur of the thus symbolically consecrated waters gracefully enlivens the landscape and forms a lovely contrast to the sublime silence of the serious mountain giants."
